Leaving the office at 3:15 PM, I was on my way to my son's dorm at UW to pick him up. The traffic on I-90 was pretty bad but when I drove my car onto I-5, the road became looser. However, approaching UW campus, I was stuck in the congestion for a while again. My son had been out of ELM when I arrived there, we tried to get onto I-5 North to go back home, but it seemed no way to turn onto 45th Street any time soon, I decided to take a U-Turn to get onto 15th Ave to go through local.
After dinner, I started sleeping because we decided to go watching Captain America - Civil War on Friday night, then my son would go back to campus on Saturday afternoon. He loved Campus life and didn't want to stay at home during the weekend. The only purpose for him to coming back home was to watch this newly released movie because he didn't drive himself. My memory failed me that I thought the last show for IMAX 3D at night would be at 11:30 PM. Fortunately, I double checked online, it would be at 11:00 PM.
Buying the tickets at the counter, we got into the line to wait for sitting into the auditorium. There were plenty fans even it was close to midnight. However it wasn't sold out.
I had been curious why the notice of having audiences putting on 3D glasses wasn't present on the screen as it should have been and all of previews were not 3D. I kept reminding my son this oddity but he asked me to wait. The movie started, the scenes were still two dimensional. I asked my son to take off the glasses, there wasn't double shadow on the screen. I tried to get up to go to complain to the staff but my son didn't let me go. He is such a nice boy. Someone else started realizing it and went out to talk to the staff, then one of the staff came in to apologize, eventually corrected the mistake. We had already lost five minutes of 3D experience. I still suspect we were tested for unknown reason, this never happened before.
The movie was hilarious. Superheros had to fight each other, just like the subtitle of Civil War implied. Spider Man was brought into this episode. It's still a fantastic movie with all those special effects but I was wondering how long Hollywood would be able to keep audiences' enthusiasm in these giant makes.
We walked out of AMC at Alderwood Mall at 2:00 PM. The sky was dark but clear, which indicated a sunny Saturday. My son wanted to have a picture taken with the poster of the movie inside but the doors were all locked, so we weren't able to go back. Waking to our car parked in the garage beneath the theater, we really wanted to go back home to sleep.
