Patrick's Diary - 4/30/2016

My weekend fun started with the first televised BPL match: Stoke City vs. Sunderland. It's not bad for the possible relegating team gaining one point at the end. Overall, you can't expect the safe team to make the full efforts to win over a problematic rival because a lot of players might know each other or even good buddies. I don't think you can blame that.
Most of the time, I watched a Bundesliga match between Hertha and Leverkusen. However, I missed most of the goals. It was supposed to be more competitive than the other televised BPL match.
Switching back to NBC, I learned Arsenal beating Norwich, which trapped the latter even deeper in relegation zone. However, this match does matter for Arsenal because they needed to secure the position in top four. Wenger may leave the club in summer because Arsenal hasn't won anything for more than a decade.
It's sunny but clouds didn't want to go away completely, so it's still a bit chilly outside. I could predict it to become very warm by noon, so started preparing for Barbeque lunch. First, I put one piece of potato, two pieces of sweet potato on the grill. While waiting, I kept watching the soccer match. After half an hour, I went out to roll over the potato but found the propane ran out. It wasted me 20 minutes to drive to 7-11 to have propane tank replaced. When I walked into the store to pay, a guy ahead of me held the door for me and made the comment: "It's time for barbeque."
When I turned on the fire again, I didn't know what I was thinking leaving the three of the four knobs off, which meant only 1/4 of the grill being heated. After another 20 minutes, I coated the salmon with Mayonnaise, then put it onto the upper rack, I still hadn't realized.
After 15 minutes more, I came back to grill the Italian sausage, then I just noticed the fires not being fully on. I had to turn all the knobs on this time.
I bought a bottle of red wine at Costco and planned to drink it at this lunch. The opener I used was what I got during a white elephant gift exchange at work before the holiday season. It worked very well.
Yes, the grill was fully on fire this time but Italian sausages were over burnt. My Dad's favorite sweet potato was well baked. Salmon looked very delicious with melting mayonnaise on it.
Three of us sat in the different areas to eat this tasty lunch: My Dad sat on the loveseat in the living room focusing on his sweet potato while watching Sounders' match; My Mom sat by the island in kitchen to taste the Italian sausage and I sat at the table in between my parents to enjoy the wine, salmon and sausages. The sausage was a bit salty, so my Mom had to eat a piece of bread to neutralize.
Because of two big glasses of wine, I fell into sleep from time to time during the Sounders' taking Crew, but fortunately caught the moment Morris scoring his 3rd MLS goal at the end. It's amazing that they made 3 points at home in front of 40,000 fans.
Coming back to my bedroom to keep sleeping, I woke up at 5:00 PM and drove to gym to work out. It's a pretty thorough exercise to make me sweaty all over the body. On my way home, I appreciated the beautiful sunshine with pleasure. As I said in my clip, I don't fear getting old, were I 65 years old now, I would enjoy such a relaxed lifestyle. Why don't I want it?
Watching mariners in bedroom without eating dinner because of too much food at barbeque lunch, I was so impressive by their 4 runs in the bottom first inning. There must be many fans at Safeco Field at such a fantastic night.
I watched a comedy named "Spy" but neither caught it from the beginning nor kept to the end. It's a very entertaining one I need to catch in future.
