Sometime in Scandinavia - Day Eight

It was such a quiet cloudy morning in Trondheim, they would have been still in deep sleep had the phone in the room not rung: "Sir, I am so sorry to bother but your car blocks other's, and that car owner needs to leave for an event right away, can you help move your car?" The lady at front desk requested cautiously but firmly.

Oh, god, he recalled that they arrived at the hotel almost at 11:00 pm last night after driving by Kristansund, which hadn't been in their original plan. When they tried to park their car in the lot, it had been fully packed. After getting the permission by a gentleman at front desk, they parked the car at the end of the lot where theirs blocked another car. He did offer to leave the key to that gentleman but he didn't take it because he wasn't required to be on duty through the night per their policy, he wasn't sure that if the car key was needed during the night for any reason, he could be found.
He had to get up to run to the park lot to move their car, however, it's already 9:00 am, many travellers had left, so the parking lot looked pretty open. They needed to check out too anyway.

Why they decided to go to Kristansund was that they heard Opera house there, the oldest one in Norway, was worth visiting.
They checked out at 9:30 am, then decided to walk around the city to visit several places. Trondheim is the 3rd largest city in Norway. It was built more than 1,000 years ago and used to be the capital in Viking Ages. Nidaros Cathedral is the most important Gothic Monument in Norway they must visit.

"I frequently heard people making the comment that Scandinavians are no longer religious, but we still can see so many people visiting the churches in every city."He discovered.

"No matter if are you religious or not, religion was the foundation of the societies in the entire Europe including Scandinavia. Our cultures, such as philosophies, literature, Arts, Architectures like this cathedral were all directly related to religions. Visiting the churches becomes a major event in every city. It's understandable." She expressed her opinion.
At noon, they were done with the visits of the city, and decided to have a lunch before getting onto the road again. After reviewing several restaurants on their cell phone, they decided to stop by Baklandet Skydsstation. This restaurant served pretty delicious local foods, they were full when they got out of it.

In the next 7 hours, they would be on road to Oslo. Though it was a long drive, without ferry in between, they would be able to manage time much better.

"I heard this route is much more flatter than those in west coast of Norway and without as much water as the other side. However, the scenery might be less beautiful, I assume."He asked.

"True, it is why every summer, many biking enthusiasts take tours from Trondheim to Oslo. The scenes actually are as beautiful as the other side too."She knew more about it.
She sounded right. On the way to Oslo, they did see bicyclists from time to time. The weather was perfect during the summer without much wind and temperature in Scandinavia was never an issue in this season, these ensure biking was definitely a pleasant option on the road.

It was almost 8:30 pm when they saw skyline of Oslo. He felt pretty fulfilled after almost 600 Kilometers drive.
"You owe me something." She teased him.

"Ok, don't talk to me for 10 minutes." He knew what she referred to, "I will satisfy you then."

After ten minutes when freeway had ended at the edge of the city, he started reciting to her:

"When sun rose at east in the morning,
I was sticking my cheek to your chest.
When sun drops at west in the evening,
You are slapping your hand on my wrist.
Cathedral in Trondheim was a treasure,
I had left a wish you may find out later.
Skyline of Oslo is a pleasure,
You will make a dream I can jump in sooner.
Six Hundred Kilos length wasn't an obligation,
Road was so neat for bicyclists riding on relaxingly.
Four Hundred Minutes duration wasn't a frustration,
Route was so pleasant for drivers cruising through spontaneously.
Why did you tap on my wrist as a punishment?
Because I owed you this poem as a fulfillment."

She definitely smiled: "I will let you punish me tonight whatever you want."

He accelerated the car to rush to the hotel they booked.
