Patrick's Diary - 6/13/2015

Checking the coolant and lubricant oil while waiting for my mom to walk out of the house, I added both into radiator and engine, respectively after not having done these for more than a month. My van has run almost 210,000 miles and I need to arrange a 30,000 miles interval maintenance.

Dropping off my parents at Ranch 99 Chinese Supermarket, my son and I went to Costco. After 40 minutes, we came back to pick up my parents, then I changed the plan of having lunch at Taste of Sichuan, instead, we were heading to Chinatown.

The road southbound was pretty open today. Driving on Ship Canal Bridge, we were so impressed by the beautiful scenery under such a wonderful sunny sky: Lake Union on the right was calm and quiet; Lake Washington on the left was a bit remote but clearly visible; Space Needle was tall and spectacular; Skyline of Downtown Seattle was picturesque and livable.
We ordered pretty rich dishes at New Star Restaurant at the corner of Jackson Street: Fresh Fish Tail; House Peking Duck; Fish & Crab Soup; Spinach; Fried Rice. Either the dishes were so delicious or we were so hungry, we almost ate them all except three buns and two duck legs we eventually boxed to take home. During the lunch, we chatted a lot of stuff about Chinese Cultures and Politics.
I hadn't realized today was Graduation Commencement at UW until we were stuck on I-5 North approaching NE 45 Street Exit. In such a wonderful early summer afternoon, so many graduates with their family members rushed to campus to show their prides of being huskies. My son showed his husky pride by introducing his campus. Every time we drove through here, he talked about his dorm building, which was very visible from I-5. He will be graduating in 2018, so we will be here for his graduation in June then.
Dropping off them at home, I took an hour long nap, then drove to Safeway to refill some medications. On the way passing my rental townhouse, I recalled that my agent e-mailed me last week to inform that my tenant was going to move out possibly this month end. This family is sponsored under Section 48, they are approved to move to a bigger house. However, my agent wanted to know if I planned to sell or keep renting out because both markets were hot in Seattle. I definitely will keep it because our family will need two houses at least. My agent is marketing my property, hopefully it will be rented out pretty soon. I am not worried about it and my agent is very professional.
While waiting for my medications refilled by Tina and Eric at Pharmacy, I wandered around after buying canned soups and hams for my lunch at work as well as grande latte at Starbucks. I was impressed to see several beautiful women shopping there. I actually encountered one of them in an aisle twice. It's not third time but the charm, we did greet each other and I liked her lovely smile.

Driving to gym afterwards, I worked out by following my weekend schedule: One hour on treadmill, 20 minutes biking and 200 times weightlifting. While on the treadmill, I got the call from my son that he asked me to buy a big mac for him for dinner.
Driving across the intersection, I slid my car onto Drive-Through. Watching the clip I taped, you will listen to the conversation I had with the guy who was taking my order. He seemed not catching my accent very well. How come could he catch my ordering of fries to Apple Pie? It's hilarious.
I paid for 4 big mac and fries at Window #1, the guy smiled and confirmed that I didn't want the drinks, he probably was wondering why I didn't simply order 4 Big Mac Meals. The reason I made this order a little bit complex was I bought beer at Costco and I wanted to drink a bottle for dinner, my son had Cokes he bought yesterday, my parents didn't drink soda much.

At Window #2, while I was waiting for my order, I chatted with that guy who took my order earlier. He said to me that I looked tired and I let him know I just worked out for 1 hour and a half. Buddy, I will finish my diary and Day Nine of Sometime in Scandinavia, so if you have chance to see me tomorrow, I will look exhausted.

Drinking Heineken, I watched Sounders taking FC Dallas the entire 90 minutes and enjoyed all 3 goals they scored. The first one made by Neagle was a justice for his dismissed goal in Kansas City last week.
2nd goal set by Rose and scored by Martins was such a smart one:
3rd goal by Gonzalez was amazing, especially for himself whom hadn't scored for Sounders in the past 5 years.
It's a great game, Dempsey didn't score but did make a very dangerous free kick and a magic cross.

I was thinking to take my son to watch new lease, possibly Jurassic World, but decided to stay home to watch a movie named "This is where I leave you" on HBO. It's an interesting movie starring several stars.
Ok, it's already Midnight, let me find a song on Youtube to wrap up. I did like a song titled "One Last time" ranked top 50 last week.
