Patrick's Diary - 6/12/2015

Coming back home after helping my son moving out of dorm, we were all exhausted, especially my son who had cleaned up the room and packed the stuff since this morning. After dinner, I fell into sleep pretty quickly and just got up. Now, it is 3:33 on Saturday morning.

Since I hadn't gone to gym on Thursday night, I did it yesterday morning. On my way to gym at 5:00 am, the road was so quiet and it's cloudy. I didn't feel particularly bad because sunshine is great but it could have temperature cumulated to a high level gradually. With a cloudy break for a day, it's good.
I ate too much the night before, so didn't stop by McDonald's to have breakfast as usual. After one hour intensive workout, I went home to take shower, then drove my son back to his dorm for moving out.

Waiting on the ramp to get onto I-5, I could see such a congested road ahead of me. After switching onto I-90, the situation wasn't improved much. However, as soon as crossing over the bridge on Lake Washington, the road became wide open.
My son called me several times when I was at work to update his move-out schedule, eventually he decided to let me come over at 4:20 pm to help him load the stuff into the trunk. One of those several phone calls was not for the updates but a piece of good news: He got almost perfect grade in Philosophy! With an OK grade in Calculus 124 and a possible good grade in Macroeconomics as he predicted, his freshman's year GPA may be achieving 3.0. Given relatively difficult courses he had been taking, it is a promising result for his future performances in the next three years.

He double checked if the money left in his dinning account would be forfeited, the answer was it wouldn't be refunded. He did buy several packs of water and coke at the college store. I just triple checked on UW Dinning Website, you can read that money left in dinning account will be forfeited at the end of agreement. It doesn't say if the money can be transferred if a new agreement has been signed, which is the common case for returning students like my son. For safety, we probably will go to buy more stuff at District Market today.
This was the first time my son let me get into his dorm building and room, he probably didn't want me to see his messy room before. Since he had cleaned up and packed, the room looked fine.
While he was waiting for inspection at his dorm, I loaded the stuff from the cart he borrowed into my van.
He finally checked out and returned the key to Landers. While I was waiting for him, I stood by Cultivate to enjoy such a wonderful Friday afternoon on UW campus.
Coming back home, I was only able to catch the last 20 minutes of hypered match between US and Sweden. As an American, I rooted for US National Team and did wear US Jersey the whole day but I would like to see Swedish National Team to advance as well. Scoreless draw wasn't a bad result for both teams. US will most likely advance. Swedes have to compete with Aussies.

Ok, I need to go back to sleep for another couple of hours, then drive my parents and son to shop groceries.

Which song do I want to listen to wrap up my diary? Actually, let me pull top 50 in weekly hits and then figure out which one is on top now...
Actually, let me edit my post a little bit. After searching top 10 songs of the week, I figured out "See You Again" is on the top this week:
