Patrick's Diary - 6/11/2015

I ended up not going to McDonald's in Canyon Park and workout at LA Fitness because I went back to sleep after finishing my diary for yesterday. However, I did go to another one close to our office building to have McMuffin.
Yep, as I mentioned in my video clip, I had a very weird dream in my following sleep after writing the diary this early morning: I went to a city I didn't recognize, but one of my ex seemed living in it. She rented a car to come to pick me up but I also drove my own car, so she parked the rental car and sat into my car. Then, we drove around without knowing the destination. From certain point of time, my car's gas pedal didn't work appropriately, I ended up using my right hand to pull and push it. When we reached an intersection, we didn't know where to go and both roads on the left and right seemed too narrow to drive through. Eventually, we went back to where we started, which wasn't a hotel but just a place. I decided to send the car to a technician I knew very well and my ex would drive her rental car to follow me there. The very last scene before I woke up was that she lied down on the ground in front of my feet, I dropped a tool almost hitting her head. Then, I urged her to get away from that spot...See how many weirdnesses in this dream: In her city, she rented a car but I drove my own car; The technician I knew very well resided in her city. It sounds a totally messed up story. By the way, my car wasn't the Caravan I am driving now, it was probably one of the sedans I owned in the past. There wasn't an entire image of her rental car in the dream, so I don't know the make and model of it either.

Taking three hours sick leave to go to see Dr. Gillett, as usual, I talked with Laura, care management first. She walked me through my lab test results. Overall, the results were pretty good: Almost all numbers were much lower than borderlines except HDL needs to bump up over 40, currently is at 36. Though I have been working out intensively, I may need doing it more consistently as I have been doing in the last three weeks.

After dinner, I planned to sleep for an hour, then go to gym but my son called me from his dorm: he wanted me to pick him up because he was going to take two pieces of big baggage back home tonight before finally moving out of the dorm tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the last day of Spring Quarter and also Academic Year, so everyone has to move out even though my son will live in the same dorm in his sophomore year.

On my way to my son's dorm, I could tell the road was wide open at night on Thursday.
Waiting for my son to get down from his dorm building, I noticed that several parents were helping their kids moving out tonight.
After loading the baggage, he went back to his dorm to pick up the backpack.
After we had been on I-5 North, my son suddenly realized that he hadn't had dinner and wanted a big meal. Between McDonald's and KFC, he decided to go to the latter because he wanted eight pieces meal there. I had had relatively big dinner at home already, however, I ate one big piece of chest and drank a large cup of diet pepsi, then got really full.
My son wrapped up final exam of Macroeconomics tonight and felt pretty comfortable. Philosophy final should be fine too. When he called me earlier, he'd already known the grade for Calculus, which wasn't good but was enough for him to keep going on Calculus 125 in Autumn. He had been worried about it in the last couple of days but eventually felt settled today. I even told him to drop the Calculus 125 and replaced it with another easy class next quarter if he struggled with it, he wanted to keep doing it. He said even eventually that he selected a major, which doesn't require calculus, it would be much better for him to have earned credits on these 3-courses calculus. He had planned to preview the concepts for Calculus 125 through the summer after we come back from Scandinavia. By the way, I also invited my stepson to go with us but couldn't reach him because he is traveling overseas now. He is also a husky who had graduated with double majors in Finance and Marketing from Foster Business School and got a job offer from IBM.

Ok, I need to drive my son back to his dorm tomorrow morning because he needs to have his room inspected before finally moving out. After work, I will go back to his dorm to pick him up again as I just did tonight.

I feel happy for my son that he took the challenges in his fresh year and went through.

Let me find an old song to wrap up tonight:
OK, Taylor Swift probably would complain if she weren't paid attention, her version of this song.
Come on, it is summer. But I love this song and can't think about any other at this moment. I have never listened to this gal's version:
