My general rule is not to talk about anything at work including co-workers but one of my closest co-workers will retire at the end of this year. We have backed up each other for our jobs in the last 5 years. He and his wife will move to Kentucky living in a big house with a large yard, where is close to his daughters' home in Tennessee. He is a Washington State native, was born and raised in Eastern Washington. However, people do move. It sounds he will enjoy his retirement for sure. I got his home address and may visit him someday. I told him he is the second Washington State retiree who move to other places on my list I plan to visit in future. The first one was a department head and professor at Washington State University, whom briefly worked on a training project development with me back in 2001 and owns a residence in Orlando. The couple left me the address several years ago and invited me to stay at their house whenever I would be in Florida. Oh, I recall that professor might be rehired by Memphis, he could be close to my buddy's new house in Kentucky. However, that professor probably finally retired and is enjoying his retirement in Orlando eventually. I don't know when I am going to retire, let's shoot for 2020, may have to be December 31st, 2026. After retirement, I definitely will drive through the entire country I have done the most parts in the past. I also will drive through the entire Europe I have also done half since 90s. Of course, China too, because its roads were not good enough while I was living there, I only did for 1/4 of the whole country, so there are a lot of roads fresh new to me. Hopefully, it's safer on roads in South America and well developed in Africa then. In addition, I have never been in Oceania but it is on my list as well.
Reading through 100 pages of James Patterson's novel triggered me to draft the plot of my novels I plan to write after I retire. As I shared, I am going to write two books in my life, one is about my Economic theories, another is a novel. It could be a trilogy, the part of the very beginning could be:
This young guy from China met a former professional soccer player in Nassau, Bahamas. They played soccer for a local team and formed brotherhood despite the big brother was almost 20 years senior. During a public holiday, this Chinese young guy was brought by his big brother to his brother-in-law's house in Freeport and found out that he was a tycoon in shipping business and a senior member of majority party of the government. Later on, he figured out his big brother was actually an CIA Agent. One night, his big brother brought him to a dinner at Cable Beach Casino where they met a rising political star in Florida who came from a famous family, though the young Chinese guy had to sit in another table alone to wait for his big brother. His big brother knew he wanted to go to Chicago to see his girlfriend but couldn't get a visa at US Consulate, though the big brother could have developed him into a CIA agent immediately and helped him access US easily, he really cared about this little brother, so didn't push him to get into a dangerous business unprepared. Instead, he helped him get a Bahamian residence card and a travel document... The big brother's sister had a lot of connections in US as well, she helped this young guy be admitted by several good colleges he actually qualified as a transferred student in one of them in Florida. However, after 3 months, he went up to New England to enroll another program at an elite school...He never got a chance to see his girlfriend in Chicago in that year for a reason...
Sounds impressive? I think I can sell it to a publisher in 2026.
Ok, I will go back to my dream in the next couple of hours.
