In the last two hours, I had been filing my 2015 tax return and roughly completed. Tomorrow night, I will thoroughly check by reading the instructions for each form carefully. In 2014 return, I wasn't able to get any American Opportunity Credits from my son's college tuition. According to the computation on 1040 for 2015, I seem able to get part of the full credits. This will be one of the check points I will review. If all the numbers are checked out correctly, I can file my return electronically as I had done in the past several years, the refunds should be wired to my bank account within a week or 2. It will cover majority of my property taxes in 2016 and I only need to pay the first half by 4/30. I will use the rest to pay my credit card bill with the current cycle ending on 3/14.
Watching the 2nd half of Crystal Palace playing Liverpool, I was a little bit sorry for the former losing the match in the last several seconds. The Penalty wasn't very convincible.
It's so disappointed for Manchester United losing to West Brom. They might not be able to qualify for UEFA Champion League this year. On the flip side, West Brom may get a chance.
Two Bundesliga matches were televised on Fox Sports I overlapping with BPL matches. I had caught dozens minutes of Mainz playing Darmstadt and eventually watched the final 25 minutes of the match between Hamburg and Hertha Berlin. Hamburg seems fleeing away relegation zone but Frankfurt is very close to the bottom now.
Getting up at 10:15am, I felt very relaxed. Going to gym, I worked out full routine.
While riding on the bike, I noticed that Nancy Reagan passed away in the morning due to heart failure. She was one of the greatest First Lady in US Presidential history.
Another piece of news was Peyton Manning to officially retire tomorrow.
During the lunch, my dad recommended me to watch a speech delivered by a Chinese scholar on one of Chinese channels on Great Wall Platform I subscribed for my parents. I hadn't watched a Chinese program for almost a year but was interested in this one. In their master bedroom, I watched and listened to this Associate Professor's analysis of Chinese economy. He meant to explain the economy from political perspective given his academic position being in politics, but what I caught was full of economics. He might just simply try to switch the field from politics to economics. His opinions can be summarized as:
- In 90s, China developed a lot of lands for Industrialization;
- Advanced Economies happened to outsource enormous manufacturing jobs due to technological innovations the same period of time;
- Internet brings up tremendous information revolution;
Due to these three factors in the past two decades, China has become an integrator of East Asian Supply Chain of Industrial Manufacturers. The transformation of industrial manufacturing from Western to East Asia including Southeast Asia is terminal because cheap labor can't be the only factor to having manufacturing capacities transferred somewhere else, highly developed lands and abundant capitals in this region are irreplaceable by others. I can't agree with him but these points do provide a different perspective for me to understand China and Asia today.
MLS kicked off Soccer Sunday, and I watched the first televised match Timbers hosting Crew. It's lucky for our Cascade rivalry winning in the last minute, but not the same for Sounders. We lost to Kansas City at home. The new formation needs to be integrated smoothly. As far as I could tell, the midfielders need more co-ordinations and defenders should fill each other's position quickly. That Fisher was sent off was a huge factor of having the match lost; the new field with mixed rubber and grass worsened by the harsh rain might cause Frei's misjudging.
Democratic Debate sounded heating up tonight. Sanders changed the tone much more aggressively. This reminded me a Chinese slogan popularly advocated during Cultural Revolution Era: "革命不是请客吃饭", which can be translated: "Revolution is not to buying a meal for the enemy." Nominations are getting into brutal period for both parties.
Before sleeping, let me see if there is new clip for Gopro on Youtube...
