It's still a busy day but a Friday. Everyone tried to wrap up the stuff and leave as early as possible to enjoy the weekend. I walked out of the door around 4:00 pm because I started relatively late compared to my routine. It's unusual that I brought my laptop home because I would have a meeting pretty early on Monday morning at another building and need to have my laptop with me, so I would go for it directly from home. I only had brought my laptop once in last year before the big holiday break at the end of the year and learned a lesson because I forgot to put it into my car when I drove to work the following day. After driving on I-405 South for 1 mile, I suddenly realized, then had to take a U-turn to come back home to pick it up. I would have to remind myself not to repeat that stupid mistake on Monday.
My trading account, which is having GTZ owned, bumped up another 6% in early morning until a selloff before noon. It ended up with a fractional % gain. However, I am pretty positive for the rest of the year. You never can get rid off the volatilities but the ending result should be fine. Gopro is beautiful evan in a farm.
I read several pages of Chapter 3 of The Rise and Fall of American Growth before dinner and was impressed by the invention of refrigerated and processed foods in US History. Coke was invented as fountain drink initially but eventually became mass market beverage after the bottling factories were built. Nowadays, when we walk in the supermarket to pick up any fancy foods on the shelves carelessly, do we ever realize that we are taking them for granted? The book defines three necessitates for the development of living standards: Foods, Clothes and Shelter. This also reminded me to recall that we were taught in elementary school the four basic elements for living in Chinese: 衣,食,住,行, the last Chinese word represents Commute. Drawing a conclusion, I can say no matter who are you and where do you live, you have to live a life with these basic needs. I will keep reading it and hopefully finish by the end of March. I plan to lie on the beach in Waikiki to read it in a whole day when we go there during my son's spring break.
I eventually went to the gym at 7:30 pm the first time this week and completed almost a weekday routine. On my way home, I forgot to stop at 7-11 to buy beer for watching soccer tomorrow morning. Anyway, I didn't go back to buy it because it might be more healthy not to drink at 4:30 am. I plan to watch Arsenal playing Tottenham then.
