Wow, I haven't written my diary for 3 days and don't know how much I can catch up before midnight because I feel pretty sleepy after not taking much rest today.
As I shared, my backup switched the job with me half a year ago. Actually he was the first employee for that job 15 years ago and he loved it. It was a sort of reward for him before he finally retired at the end of last year. I hope he had enjoyed it during those six months. Well, at least, he sounded totally relaxed after retiring because I had to call him for an administering question two weeks ago, he returned my call and said he and his wife being ready to head to their new home in Kentucky. I will find an opportunity to visit his new house someday over there.
After he retired, I went back to my old job and was assigned a new backup who actually I got to know when I started this job five and a half years ago. She was working at a position also related to this job then. So it's a sort of homecoming for her as well though the function of being my backup was totally different from her old function. I gave her a two hours introduction in the afternoon and she picked everything up very quickly.
As I shared, we cancelled our plan of driving across country this summer. Instead, my son asked me to take him to Hawaii during Spring Break next month. I only went to Honolulu for two nights almost 20 years ago, so wasn't familiar with it at all. My backup actually had gone there three or four times, so she gave me a lot of useful suggestions. I probably would change my plan to rent a car, then we would be able to drive to North Shore to have fun. In addition, we also could drive to Pearl Harbor by ourselves without joining a tour. During this season, a lot of people go to Hawaii.
Coming back home a bit late, I didn't watch much television and fell into sleep pretty soon...
