Patrick's Diary - 7/3/2015

It is already 0:44 on 7/5 in Uppsala, Sweden. I forced myself to sleep but wasn't able too. It's natural I have jet-lag now. My son was very tired after the long flight, he had slept for 2 hours but woke up a couple of minutes. He isn't an experienced traveller as I am, so always got problems at the beginning of each long vacation especially like this one.
Because we were on board the flight over the night, I didn't have a chance to write the diary for 7/3, now I am wrapping it.

In the morning on 3rd, I got up and felt pretty cool though the sunshine was strong as far as I could see through the window in my bedroom.
I cleaned my van and suddenly found the right rear tire being flat. Within 2 minutes, I replaced it with my spare tire and noticed a very thick round nail implanted into it. I couldn't think about where it could be nailed in, I hadn't driven on rough roads in the last couple of days and it must happen the night before the 3rd.
My neighbour Dennis happened to walk out of his house and I was wondering if he had tool to fix flat tire, I hadn't expected he had it and he didn't have. I had planned to drive to Discount Tire to have it fixed because I had 4 new tires just replaced in its store in Renton close to our office building 3 months ago. However, Dennis assumed that my tire should be covered by warranty for road hazard and I hadn't known it.

As he recommended, I drove to Discount Tire next to Fred Meyer on 196th Street in Lynnwood because I needed to drop my homeowner due check for my rental property near that location. Asking Sean, the service rep, I got the confirmation my tire is covered, so the repair wouldn't be charged.

While waiting for it, I bought two packs of socks for our trip in case I wouldn't have a chance to wash the dirty clothes. Sean told me it would take half an hour to have the flat tire fixed, so I sat in Tully's inside Fred Meyer to have a cup of latte.
Yes, the flat tire was fixed quickly and free of charge. So neat!

Finally packing the bags, we were heading to airport. Passing by downtown Seattle, I was trying to take a picture of beautiful sky but camera on cell was dysfunctional. Later on, I restarted it, function came back. It was actually very hot outside but we did feel it as air-conditioning worked very well in my van.
I had thought we might see many travellers heading somewhere for the holiday but we surprisingly went through the security quickly. I guess almost all travellers had gone on Wednesday.
Watching a Sean Penn's movie named Gunman, I started falling into sleep from time to time. The flight would bring us to Amsterdam to have us transferring to Stockholm with which I am so excited.
Ok, let me take a break, I will finish the diary for 7/4. We missed fireworks back home but did experience the excitement of beautiful Sweden, especially while driving on E4 to Uppsala, I almost couldn't help screaming.
