Patrick's Diary - 8/12/2015

It's already 1:23am on Thursday morning now, I am catching up my diary for yesterday.

It took me 1 hour and a half from home to my desk, a new normal since last Friday. Having a latte at Tully's and a box of tater tots, I did enjoy both, but not as the same time. The thunderstorm was a surprise during the lunch when I was sitting outside, but it was sort of amazing to view rains pouring in the sunshine.

In the afternoon, I planned to walk around a little bit and even took a picture of the ducks lying on the grass so relaxed. Though I am sure it wouldn't violate any codes if I posted the photo in public because it was snapped outside far away from any buildings, I still want to save it for myself.

Reading a piece of news on WeChat this morning, I was so shocked by a chemical explosions in Tianjin, 120 kilometers away from Beijing. I have noticed so many fatal accidents have recurred in China recently, growing too fast without disciplines might be the causes. I drove from Beijing to Tianjin on Freeway very often during a period of time in early 90s, both for leisures and businesses. I even helped one of my friends secure a duty-free warehouse with pretty favorable terms in the area where this explosion might blow up. I used to invite my buddies to stay in a hotel in that area because it owned a bowling alley and other gaming facilities. Of course, I paid for my friends just for fun without any other purposes. That was my lifestyle for quite a while then, all my friends in old years knew it. Looking back from today's point of view, I realized how silly I was. Anyway, as I said, it's fun. Why not? I Often gathered buddies and their wives or girlfriends at midnights, then drove to one of 24 hours restaurants attached to 4 or 5 stars hotels in the district of foreign embassies to have decent foods, finally came back home at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. But do I miss those days and nights? No, definitely not. I really wish those 3 or 4 years had never existed in my life because I had made a series wrong choices for my personal life in my early 20s. I should haven't gone back to China every time I left it, why? eventually I left it anyway after having wasted too many years. If I hadn't had a comfortable life there then, I would have settled in Europe, North America or even Caribbean long ago. On the flip side, after I left China permanently, their economy started truly surging. Do I regret? No, not this time. I love my life today no matter what. However, my prayers are with those victims and their families.
Sounders signed another new player from Panama. Torres played against US National Team in 2014 World Cup Qualifier at Centurylink Field, I was at the stands in that match, so I must watch his play in person then. In the past two weeks, Sounders signed Striker, Attacking Midfielder and Central Defender, wow, a powerful central lineup. Let's see how these new guys will perform.
Presidential campaign sounds heating up. I probably should utilize my blog to lay out my input as well. What I plan to do is to specifically promote my economic theory and its applications by integrating capitalism and socialism.
